Industrial Floor Cleaning

Industrial Floor Cleaning In Woodstock, Ontario

Industrial floor cleaning covers deep scrubbing, degreasing and the preparation wash that has to happen before any coating goes down. All of the work we do is insured. Sometimes it is a service in its own right, and sometimes it is the step that saves a customer the cost of a floor they did not need.

Industrial Floor Cleaning details

Industrial Floor Cleaning Is Often Cheaper Than Recoating

We would rather say this at the survey than after you have paid for a coating you did not need.

A warehouse floor gone grey and dull is very often a sound sealed floor carrying years of rubber, dust and cleaner residue. Proper industrial floor cleaning brings it back at a fraction of the cost of recoating. The same goes for a plant floor that never looks clean however often it is scrubbed, where the usual cause is a machine running the wrong pad and the wrong chemistry for that surface.

The floors that genuinely need recoating are the ones where the coating has worn through, is peeling or is failing at the joints. All of that becomes visible once industrial floor cleaning has taken the dirt off, which is another argument for cleaning first.

Industrial Floor Cleaning Is What Decides Whether A Coating Holds

Where industrial floor cleaning turns into preparation, it becomes the most important part of the whole job.

Oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid soak into concrete over years and settle deep in the pores. Grinding the surface away does not touch what has gone below it, and a coating laid over contaminated concrete gives fisheyes, craters and patchy adhesion. Hot water pressure cleaning and dedicated degreasers come first, and on badly contaminated areas the industrial floor cleaning is repeated until the slab passes a water break test.

Degreasing is the step most often left out of a cheap quote, and it is the reason a cheap floor comes off again.

Hard Water Makes Scale A Standing Industrial Floor Cleaning Problem

In washdown areas around Woodstock and Ingersoll the problem is often mineral rather than organic.

Oxford County groundwater comes through limestone and is very hard, tested at 324 to 693 milligrams per litre in Woodstock and 355 to 495 in Ingersoll. Every wash cycle leaves calcium behind and it builds into a film ordinary detergent will not lift. The answer is a periodic acidic descale rather than more caustic, which is the opposite of what most crews reach for. Getting that industrial floor cleaning cycle right protects the floor, because the harsh chemistry used to fight scale does more damage than the scale ever does.

Industrial Epoxy Flooring

Industrial epoxy flooring is the general purpose industrial flooring for a dry production area, a machine shop or an assembly bay, and it is what most Woodstock and Ingersoll plants have in mind when they call. We install it over a mechanically prepared slab at a specified film thickness, with the slip resistance and the chemical exposure settled before anything is ordered. All of our work is fully insured and every scope is written down before it starts.

Warehouse Floor Coating

Warehouse floor coating seals and protects the slab in a distribution centre, a storage building or a dispatch area, and it is the industrial flooring priced and phased most differently from a plant floor, purely because of the size. The work is insured, the areas are quoted individually, and the cure times are written into the quote so the shutdown can be planned around them.

Warehouse Line Painting

Warehouse line painting sets out the aisles, walkways, bay outlines, hatched exclusion zones and staging areas on finished industrial flooring, and it is usually the cheapest safety improvement a building can buy. Insurance covers the work. Most of it is done overnight or on a weekend so the forklifts are back on the lines at the start of the next shift.

Industrial Painting

Industrial painting covers everything in the building that is not the floor. Warehouse and plant walls, structural steel, mezzanines, racking, ceiling decks, pipework, guarding and plant equipment all fall under industrial painting, and booking it into the same shutdown as the floor is far cheaper than bringing two trades in twice. Every job is fully insured and the industrial painting scope is written down before we start.

Concrete Joint Repair

Concrete Floor Resurfacing

Concrete floor resurfacing takes a worn, spalled, dusting or patched slab and puts a sound, flat surface back on it, ready for industrial flooring to go over the top.
